Same Day Delivery

There are three well-known companies when it comes to same day delivery. You probably know what they are: one of them involves taking a trip to the local post office, the other requires you signing a computer screen, and the other involves a big brown truck.  Is there a difference between using one or the other? Definitely, contrary to popular belief that all services charge more or less the same thing and deliver the same way.

Before we go on to compare between these companies, first consider the meaning of the term "same day delivery." This is not the same thing as "next day delivery" and apparently this minor difference throws a lot of people off in scheduling. Next day delivery is the same thing as standard overnight, express mail and next day air saver, depending on which service you use.

Companies will ask that you pack your items in a bag, box or envelope if possible. Each company has its own recommendation in packaging for various items. When it comes to scheduling all of these companies are capable of fulfilling their next day promises, though the government-sponsored choice is slightly disadvantaged because they cannot guarantee same day delivery, whereas the other two choices can.

The major difference you will observe will be in pricing. Though same day delivery is generally expensive everywhere you turn, the government-founded post office will always be the cheapest way to go. You may also be asked to pay additional fees to cover fuel surcharges and extra expenses depending on if you need domestic ground shipments or air delivery. Even so, keep in mind that companies may offer online coupons which discount the shipping price. You can make payment in a variety of ways, including credit card, debit card, PayPal and money wiring. Not all companies will accept cash, check or money order so verify payment method before agreeing to a purchase.

Same day delivery is an option that can be a lifesaver in certain circumstances. If a relative needs money fast or a special item has to be delivered on a hard deadline, then it is the best option. In business, some employers may be called on to send products to a supplier on the same day. For more information contact the company of your choice and check out same day rates.
